Russia’s state-owned RIA Novosti news service reported Tuesday Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on May 14, Bloomberg reported.
Meeting Monday on the sidelines of the Arctic Council meeting in Finland, the pair agreed to resume their discussions, an unidentified Russian Foreign Ministry official told the website.
It remains unclear if Pompeo will also meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Russia, Bloomberg reported.
Following his meeting with Pompeo, Lavrov warned any attempt to use military force to resolve the crisis in Venezuela would lead to “catastrophe,” the report said.
