On the eve of the anniversary of the assassination of Kim Jong Un’s estranged half-brother, Malaysia’s prime minister reiterated his country still has a “problem” with North Korea, Fox News reported.

Although the government continues to feel the strain of the incident, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad also said his government is ready to settle with North Korea, the report said.

Kim Jong Nam was killed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia by two women who allegedly sprayed a deadly nerve agent in his face, Fox News reported.

The incident was one of the most high-profile murder cases by the communist regime, the report said, as experts said the murder was executed on the orders of Kim Jong un because his estranged half-brother was a prominent critic of his family’s rule.

Reaction to the assassination was swift, Fox News reported, with the U.S. government reclassifying the country as a state sponsor of terrorism. Mohamad indicated he remains willing to address and settle his country’s problems with North Korea, the network reported.

“We have a problem with North Korea following the death of the North Korean here,” Mahathir said, according to Channel NewsAsia.

“Malaysia will settle its problem with North Korea later,” he added. “On whether we will reopen our embassy, we will settle that problem later.”
