Photo: Asus has a pedigree in gaming with its portfolio of computers under the Strix and ROG brands. Now it seems the company is planning on bringing this expertise to the smartphone segment. Asus’ global CEO Jerry Shen was quoted by astig.ph as saying that the company can be expected to launch a smartphone designed for gaming. Shen was speaking at the opening of Asus Philippines’ 100th store, Android Authority reports. At the moment Shen’s quote is all that is known about Asus’ gaming smartphone plans. There is no word on any potential launch date either.
